What To Do To Your Brain Just Before You Fall Asleep
Most adults carry around a lot of mental baggage. We have every lousy belief that our parents and teachers drilled into us (money doesn’t grow on trees, girls are bad at math, etc). We carry around the stress of the work day, and for many, the stress of watching the world news last thing at night. All of that stress plays on the mind as we try to recharge our batteries and get a good night sleep.
Sadly, it’s estimated that over 70% of working North Americans don’t get enough sleep. And worse, it’s not “productive” sleep.
What is “productive sleep”?
I was taught by some of my more esoteric success coaches how to generate more mental power when sleeping. Depending on your level of education, you might find this stuff somewhere between “a tool of the devil” or just plain magic. Regardless, what I’m about to share with you works.
1. As you are drifting off, you have a chance to implant thoughts into your brain to create positive action the following day. The part of the brain that screws up goals, and creates preprogrammed self limiting beliefs is temporarily deactivated just before sleep.
2. Focus on assigning your subconscious a productive task as you are falling asleep. Give it a challenge. Ask good questions! (How can I take 5 months off next year and still double my income?)
3. Repeat the question to yourself 5 to 10 times until it sticks in your memory bank. Do this every night for a week. Start to watch for strange coincidences during the waking day.
4. Never give your subconscious a disempowering question before falling asleep! (Why am I so broke and screwed up?)
5. Write about the coincidences and observations about this exercise in your success journal.
Want to see some strange shit go on in your world? I’m talking jaw-dropping-I-can’t-believe-my-luck kind of stuff! Then do this for 5 nights. Pick a goal that makes your butt pucker up and gets your juices flowing. Drill the question 10 times just before falling asleep, see it in vivid color and full sound in your mind, let it percolate into the deep recesses of your gray matter, and start to see what happens!
