The Best Price on Books, and Banana Bread to Boot
Wednesday, den 17. October 2007
If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you know I love books. I don’t have a lot of time to read them. But I love them. So I was really excited when I came across BestBookDeal.com.
It’s a service that compares book prices in real time at 100 different online bookstores all over the world. Then it provides the price, condition of the book, shipping information, availability, and location. That way, you always get the book you want at the best price. Cool!
Another great find is Kitchen, Crafts & More’s “Recipes Using Five Ingredients or Less.” I’ve got to try the Miracle Whip Banana Bread. Five ingredients. That’s my kind of cooking. Enjoy!

Thursday Thirteen
Wednesday, den 17. October 2007- It is not happiness that makes us grateful, but the gratefulness that makes us happy.
- There is a difference between ignorance and stupidity. Ignorance can be cured by learning and reading. Stupidity isn’t willing to be cured.
- There are 400 words in the dictionary that begin with “self” and only 8 that begin with “fellow”.
- In a full heart there is room for everything, and in an empty heart there is room for nothing.
- In the pasture of life, don’t be a cowpie.
- Slight not what’s near, while aiming for what’s far.
- We all live under the same sky, but we don’t see the same horizon.
- People seem to get nostalgic about a lot of things they weren’t so crazy about the first time around.
- Wisdom will keep you from getting into situations where you need it.
- May every day of your life together be worse than the next.
- You may have grown old, but you may not have grown up.
- If you need time alone, try cleaning house.
- Laughter is a smile with the volume turned up.
Bonus: Rather than trying to find the right person, try being the right person.

Manic Monday #29 - Bat
Wednesday, den 17. October 2007
Bats always turn left when they leave their caves.
Frog-eating bats identify edible frogs from poisonous ones by listening to the mating calls of male frogs. Frogs counter this by hiding and using short, difficult to locate calls.
Bats sleep during the day and feed at night. The place that bats sleep in is called the “roost.”
Bats emit ultrasonic sounds to communicate with each other.
African heart-nosed bats can have such a keen sense of sound that they can hear the footsteps of a beetle walking on sand from six feet away.
Giant flying foxes, which are a type of bat, that live in Indonesia have wingspans of nearly six feet.
Vampire bat saliva has been responsible for many advances in research into stroke recovery.
