In 1970, there were 3 TV channels. And no video games.
Students were outraged at President Nixon’s announcement that the USA was invading eastern Cambodia. They took to the streets in protest.
Today there are 500+ TV channels. Thousands of ‘vidya games’. Plus the web. Plus the rest of the distractions.
What will it take to get the youth of today out of their collective stupor? An Iran invasion? A draft? Something worse?
What will make them angry enough to raise their voices?
If you’re under age 30, here is your homework this weekend.
1. Watch 2 hours of Fox News.
2. Then watch the movie “V For Vendetta”.
