Set Up an Errand Day
If you are like most moms, you probably head for the supermarket, sports store, etc. several times a week. That´s a lot of “wasted” time, or time that you could be working! One way to be more productive and take less time to do everything is to schedule your time out.
If you find that you have to hit the post office on a frequent basis, reassess your business. Is it vital that you send each package out that day? Could you combine all shipments into one day . . . say, Monday? That way you mail all orders just once a week, saving gas, time and making yourself more productive.
Meal planning can be a great way to avoid last minute trips to the store for milk or eggs. If you know exactly what you will be eating for the whole week, you can make sure you buy all the ingredients at once and have just one shopping day a week. Very organized women might even get away with once every two weeks . . . or more. My mother used to go shopping once a month!
By planning the week out ahead of time, you can probably rearrange things to get most or all errands done in just one day, leaving the remaining days of the week for working at home.
