Food Goes Hi Tech

Touchscreen MenusTouch screen menus in restaurants are catching on as an alternative to “old fashioned” analog menus. Customers can browse through pictures and descriptions of food, ordering without the assistance of a server. Games and information can also be loaded in the systems to keep diners occupied while they wait for their food.

The upside is that the computer menus can contain infinitely more information than a paper version and may help eliminate errors. It does seem a little dehumanizing though. Eliminating interaction with a real person could make dining out feel kind of impersonal and cold.
