Monday Motivation :: The Let’s-Get-This-Over-With Edition
I’ve been fairly productive this morning, so much so that I didn’t want to stop to write a dang Monday Motivation post! But then I saw a post from Lynn, who is a brand-new participant in MM, so I felt I kind of had to keep the tradition going.
That being said, you were all so dang sweet last week - yeah, I was having a bad day. And yeah, your comments made me feel tons better.
So here’s the Monday Motivation drill:
Step 1 - let us know what you are going to get done today, tomorrow, or this week (your to-do list, so to speak).
Step 2 - put it in a comment below or a post on your own site.
Step 3 - let us know what will motivate you to get it done - a reward, consequences, or whatever you need to think that will ensure you do what you say you are going to do. I’ve found that the public announcement and accountability is a particularly great motivator, but throw down consequences if you really need a kick in the pants to get stuff done! Unless, of course, you are working towards a new laptop too, in which case I think the reward is particularly motivating.
We don’t care how you get it done, we just want to support you in reaching your goals.
Today before I go to sleep I will:
- Clean out my inbox of a relatively “light” 270 emails (I was better about maintenance last week!)
- Prep for my Blog Talk Radio interview tomorrow with USAToday’s Anita Bruzzese on her show Smash the Ladder (as in the corporate kind)
- Make some Adserver updates
- Follow up on a killer PR lead from Peter Shankman’s Help a Reporter list
And by the end of the week I will:
- Finish all remaining pages on my new project (almost ready to break the news about it, too!)
- Write up a review of the Sony Cybershot that I was graciously given to test
- Take my kids somewhere fun
- Put up the Business Inspiration Blog Carnival
Ann, I’m going to take your advice - if I get all of my stuff done, I will take a whole day next weekend to go shooting (as in the photo kind). AND if I don’t get all of this done, no coffee for me for a week!
So what are you going to get done today?
