The Paradox of Creativity

Thursday, den 21. August 2008

Merlin Mann over at 43 Folders has done an interesting analysis of Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi’s ideas of how creativity works. The theory is that creative work gets done best in a seemingly paradoxical cycle of laser focused activity, and lazy idea gathering, idling and re-charging. In essence, creative people combine playfulness and discipline, or responsibility and [...]

Hey marketers – are you ready for Web 3.0

Thursday, den 21. August 2008

In web 1.0 scenario, we had websites that fundamentally was a one-way information highway. Here the visitors could just read and know - they had no option for online communication.

In web 2.0 scenario, we got a two-way communication setup, where the reader became active participants. In addition, this became the age of developers, programmers, engineers who could develop new interfaces, plug-ins to make life a lot easier. Ok, this has become age of online entrepreneurs and crowd-sourced platform. Everyday we see new startups (though most of them fail miserably); follow ups (similar startups) and lots of entrepreneurs trying to earn lots of money selling their dreams, understandings and knowledge.

However, what do we have in the web 3.0 scenario?

As far as my experience goes, I see web 3.0 is for intelligent marketers who are sharp enough to understand the basic need of his target audience. By the way, he must have enough of common sense to connect few distance parts to develop a new product (something like mix and match or mash ups).

Why I am saying like this?

Look around yourself - best programmers from different parts of the world are developing for you - everything is free. Bigger companies are throwing their APIs open. People are moving towards web in bigger numbers to find a solution for the problem and to contribute content. Better platforms are being developed every other day to market your product.

What else do you need?

Nothing but killer ideas and information of where to find the parts to add!

Thus, if you are an intelligent marketer and if you know how to market that killer idea, Web 3.0 is getting it prepared to embrace you.

Just wait and watch or work hard to develop a killer idea.
