Sony has built in an extra incentive to make the move to one of their Bravia HDTVs by offering a premium service that appeals to the budding environmentalist in all of us. When purchasing a television over 32″, customers now have the option of selecting a premium bundle that along with delivery and setup, includes recycling of your old set as well.

“Sony is in the forefront of industry recycling efforts by providing consumers another way to conveniently and responsibly dispose of their old electronics,” said Mike Fasulo, Sony Electronics’ chief marketing officer and head of the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts. “By giving consumers the opportunity to do the right thing, without even leaving their homes, we are able to make a lasting impact on the state of our environment by responsibly recycling these materials.”

This concept is especially timely given a recent expose on 60 Minutes that tracked the ultimate destination of many of our electronics on their path to being recycled.
