Pepsi’s Gravitational Pull
Tuesday, den 10. February 2009There’s a document circulating around the internet at the moment which is supposedly the design brief behind the questionable new Pepsi logo. It uses all kinds of complex “science” and esoteric theory to justify the logo’s redesign including: the golden mean, the “gravitational pull” of Pepsi, perimeter oscillations and more. Pepsi’s energy fields are also explained, and somehow the relativity of space and time are involved as well.
The document’s veracity is in question because, well - it all sounds so crazy. But a Pepsi promotional

Twitter and Home Based Business
Tuesday, den 10. February 2009I have to admit that at any given moment I don’t know whether to be highly impressed or highly amused by the way Twitter, which allows you to share messages with a 140 character limit, has taken the social media world by storm.
Maybe a bit of both. It mightn’t be - no, isn’t - [...]

Report from Middle America: Scion Open in Kansas City
Tuesday, den 10. February 2009At PSFK we’re always looking for new ways and places to find good ideas. As part of this mission, we’re expanding our reportage and looking outside the big cities to find inspiring stories and ideas - with our focus first on Middle America.
We want to highlight the creativity coming out of the growing cities and towns between our two coasts - from Minneapolis to Dallas to St Louis. One of the first things that caught our eye was alternative marketing agency Dept Zero. The agency headquartered in Kansas City… Continue reading Report from Middle America: Scion Open in Kansas City

Review: BloggersBase - a citizen journalism magazine
Tuesday, den 10. February 2009pWeb is the prime source of information. If you want a major stake of the pie, you must offer the best information in the easiest way. Even as a blogger, you need to continuously offer the best posts in your category to earn money and popularity./p
pWe have seen multi-blogger platforms where different authors (experts) write on different topics. For example think about a href=”http://www.techcrunch.com/”TechCrunch/a, a href=”http://gizmodo.com/”Gizmodo/a, a href=”http://lifehacker.com/”Life Hacker/a, or to some extent a href=”http://www.fastcompany.com/”Fast Company/a or a href=”http://www.about.com/”About.com/a. They are already some highly established information sources./p
pWe have also seen services like a href=”http://alltop.com/”All Top/a and a href=”http://popurls.com/”Pop URLs/a that collect information or posts on different topics from different high quality blogs. To add to this, we also have sites like a href=”http://www.socialmedian.com/”Social Median/a for meta discussions./p
pWe have lot more things like this. But, why am I talking all these things?/p
pIn all those big names that we have mentioned earlier, almost all the writers are well established for their own reasons (Seth, Guy Kawasaki at Fast Company) or they have developed into such a big brand that they do not require any branded writers (about.com)./p
pBut what about others? What about those who really have the potential to make a mark? What about those solo blogger who cannot compete with the multi-blogger units!/p
pYou may take a look at a href=”http://www.bloggersbase.com/”Bloggers Base/a. As they call it #8220;BloggersBase is a citizen journalism magazine powered by YOU!#8221; There you can write a post, promote your profile and blog and more importantly, earn money by writing. They run a href=”http://www.bloggersbase.com/general/faq.aspx#BlogCompetition”weekly contests/a to find and promote new talents on different sectors. Take a a href=”http://www.bloggersbase.com/quick-tour/1/”quick tour of the system/a to know them better./p
pWhat I liked most about the system is that it offers a platform for new bloggers to create and develop brand identity and reader base. You can easily run your personal blog along with contributing posts there. This is like a news magazine where every blogger, writer, journalist, photographer, videographer and artist is welcome./p
pClick on a href=”http://www.bloggersbase.com/general/faq.aspx#Writers”this link/a to know what they have stored for you./p
pHowever, in your hurry to a href=”http://www.bloggersbase.com/general/faq.aspx#EarningMoney”earn easy money/a, do not ignore your personal blog or website. Use this platform as a tool to promote your product or blog (BUT, do not spam the system - remember that you will be evaluated by real readers). At the end of the day, your blog is what will bring you fame and money./p

Touch Mix: DJ With Your iPhone
Tuesday, den 10. February 2009
Looking like a miniature version of the ATTIGO TT touchscreen turntable, Touch Mix is a DJing application for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The interface looks clean and easy to use, featuring two distinct track players, a crossfader, pitch control and sound effects. Each song’s waveform can also be manipulated by touch to mimic scratching and whatnot. The downside is that this software is only compatible with ten exclusive tracks by producer deadmau5. Hopefully this software will get a wider release, as it looks… Continue reading Touch Mix: DJ With Your iPhone

Yes, We Crashed Maybank2u
Tuesday, den 10. February 2009A lot of marketers like to claim that their server crash during a product launch. Our servers are quite ok. Instead we crashed Maybank2u’s site twice in one day.
Too much traffic from Rahsia ClickBank. But it’s ok since they sent out a customized message and apologized for their slack. I wonder what they do with [...]

Old Lunchboxes, Value Cycles and the Trough
Tuesday, den 10. February 2009Jason Kottke points us to some interesting thoughts about an objects value cycle. For many things (photo negatives, vinyl records, old computers) there is a treacherous “trough of no value” between where they are new and where they are collectible and valuable. The article explains how through craftsmanship and design, lasting value can be built in to objects to shorten, or eliminate this low value period.
The Online Photographer explains the trough and Lunchboxes:
Who wanted to keep… Continue reading Old Lunchboxes, Value Cycles and the Trough
