Right time to start an online business but…
Thursday, den 12. March 2009pIn my last post (a title=”Permanent Link to Is this right time to start an online business?” href=”../../../../../is-this-right-time-to-start-an-online-business/”Is this right time to start an online business?/a) I was talking about reasons to start an online business in this crisis. In this post, I will try to take the topic further./p
pThere are always some primary products in the market that people can never ignore. For example, you can think about finance and financial solutions and advice, healthcare, food etc. these topics will always have a market. You can hardly live without them. At the same time, there are some secondary products too. For example, think about some low end accessories. People will easily postpone the buying decision when they are in a crisis. The same thing is true about high-end luxury products like a href=”http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28015964/”cars/a or even a href=”http://www.pcworld.com/article/157932/pc_game_retail_sales_drop_14_revenue_shifts_online.html”computer games/a. Thus it is very important that you do the ground work before starting something./p
pA lot of people think that as it does not cost much to start and run an online business, you can start as many businesses as you want and on as many different fields as you want. However, the reality is that, if you want to make a successful online venture, you must spend huge amount of time and money (also consider, time = money). And this is reason enough for you to spend enough time in understanding and planning for the business before you actually start it./p
pIn today#8217;s scenario, if you run a small business like a local shop, you can save a lot of money (establishment cost, salary, inventory development etc) by taking it online. If you can save this money, you can easily sell the product at the best price. To add to this, a small business often has a very specific group to target. They are often identified by geography or different common sharing points. Thus it will not be very tough and will not consume huge budget to spread awareness about your new venture. So, just move on and identify the right business model that would go with the time or the current CRISIS./p

iTunes 8.1: Forget the DJ, Let the Crowd Do It
Thursday, den 12. March 2009iTunes 8.1 has been released, and it has a handful of new features. One curious standout is a new addition called “iTunes DJ”. It’s similar to the Party Shuffle of past versions -but now, anyone with an iPhone can request, and cue up songs remotely to the “DJ” using iTunes. Party goers can also vote up songs they like higher in the playlist. It’s kind of fun in a way, but I don’t know if “crowd sourced” DJing is the way to… Continue reading iTunes 8.1: Forget the DJ, Let the Crowd Do It

Vessel: Half Jacket, Half Tent
Thursday, den 12. March 2009Justin Gargasz’s “Vessel” is a coat with a secret. Tucked inside the back of the jacket is a one person tent. The expandable clothing lets the wearer pop out instant accommodations wherever they may be. Set up is as easy as anchoring the front of the tent to a stationary vertical object, like a tree, and staking out the four corners.
For being such a utilitarian piece of gear, the Vessel cuts a surprisingly inconspicuous profile… Continue reading Vessel: Half Jacket, Half Tent
